Just a reminder to upgrade to the new Automa release when it is eventually done (may not be until the end of 2022).

Things to remember to include, if possible:

  • Check new improved error messages work with various kinds of malformed FASTX files/records
  • Is it possible to parse a FASTX from a string without using IO objects as intermediate (if possible, no big deal, see Make constructing records less horribly inefficient #80 )
  • Benchmark that it does not cause significant speed regressions
