Made this because my guide in one of my prior issues seems to be outdated. This method is a lot less complex and doesn't require the use of Konsole. It also has the added perk of launching as a Steam game meaning us Steam Deck players don't have to swap to desktop everytime we wanna edit our stats. One thing to note all file paths are accurate for Steam Deck these paths may not be 1 to 1 for all Linux distros. However this method still works as long as you can find your respective paths.

  1. Download the Windows version of the manager. For this to work we need the .exe.
  2. Make a new folder in "home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/". For this guide I will call said folder Elden Ring Saves but you can call it whatever you like.
  3. Unzip and place the save manager folder in "home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Elden Ring Saves". I recommend renaming the folder to something like Save Manager as well.
  4. Right click and add SaveManager.exe to steam.
  5. In Steam under the manager's properties select a compatibility layer and run the manager once.
  6. Find your Elden Ring save folder in "home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1245620/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing/(steamid)" and copy the location.
  7. In your Elden Ring Saves folder right click and enter Create New's submenu and select "Link to File or Directory". Paste the copied location. DO NOT CHANGE THE FOLDER NAME AWAY FROM YOUR STEAMID.
  8. Copy the Elden Ring Saves folder location and link it to home
  9. Launch the manager and press edit. In edit's submenu select Change Default SteamID and enter your SteamID number found previously.
  10. In edit's submenu select Change Default Directory and choose My Computer. Use the path "Z:/home/deck/Elden Ring Saves/(steamid)". If you choose to type this out (not recommended) replace all "/" with " \ ".

Now it's all set up. I also recommend adding a few folders in Elden Ring saves to backup saves.
