I'm just copied your example and provide a lot of items and I see two scrollbars:

How to hide the left one?

Runs your examples and same result:

Checkboxes did not changes anything.

Adding to this, the horizontal scrollbar seems misplaced. To me, it should be at the bottom of the table
horizontal scrollbar positioning
