QR code safety

I'd like to add this QR code to the QR code page, with a comment about only scanning QR codes from sources that you trust (it leads to a rickroll), as QR codes are being used for scams. https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/qr-code-scams-are-on-the-rise-heres-how-to-avoid-getting-duped/ Even something like placing a fradulent QR code over a legitimate poster has been done.

Hi Jenna, sorry about the slow reply! Thanks for adding the dot point linking to the article. I can help you add the QR code - I think we just need to add it to the assets folder first.

@sarasrking I think this might be the same problem we encountered with the logo file. You might need to upload it directly in the Gitbook instead of GitHub please.

oh, I see what you mean, I see it on the github page, I wonder if it takes time?

It looks like the link is broken when you see it in the GitBook back end. We had this problem with the cover image too. I've tried but I can't see how to add a new file to the GitBook back end, even though in the docs it looks like that should be an option. I'll keep trying but we might have to call in an expert for this one!

I've sent a support ticket via the Gitbook back end - hopefully they will get back to us in a couple of days. We really need to work out a workflow for this because it would be great to have more images in the book.

Having a QR code in the QR code article, too, would help anyone who has somehow missed out practice with the technology.

Hi Jenna, I had to re-sync the new version of GitBook to the GitHub repo. I added the file via GitBook and now it looks like the work is syncing. I've also written to the support team to find out why we need to add images via the GitBook interface and not via GitHub. The change made by the GitBook added the image to a GitBook assets folder - the change came up here:

GitBook: [https://github.com//pull/18] No subject

I'm not entirely sure why it ended up in #18 - will have to work out what is happening there.

Thanks, @sarasrking ! That is confusing ... it'll be good to know why adding images goes via GitBook rather than GitHub.

I wonder if GitBook has its own system for numbering changes - like that's the 18th change made on the GitBook interface (we hardly use it) and then somehow it gets mixed up with the numbering in the GitHub repo...

The image is now available to view as I uploaded it via the GitBook interface. I've written to the helpdesk again to ask for instructions on how to reference to images in the repo so that the GitBook knows where they are (apparently it's like how the SUMMARY.md page works for the table of contents). Will update once I hear back from them again.
